In a move to strengthen Pakistan’s spin arsenal, the PCB has appointed former left-arm spinner Abdur Rehman as the spin bowling coach for the national team. A seasoned left-arm spinner, Rehman played for Pakistan between 2006 and 2014 getting 140 wickets in Test, ODI and T20.
The national team under Shan Masood is currently in Multan preparing for the first Test of the ICC World Test Championship series against the West Indies which is to begin on January 17.
Abdur Rehman is first-time appointment as men’s team coach to the person from Sialkot who was earlier part of Pakistan women’s team staff. His joining becomes a proper step in helping the team work out of spin more because of the places that have been covered in the squad for the series – spinners Nauman Ali, Abrar Ahmed and Sajid Khan.
