The Employees’ Provident Fund is widely expected to declare the dividend distribution for the year 2024 on March 1st this Saturday. However, even analysts see a better return of 6% on the conventional savings side and 5.6% on the syariah fund reflecting EPF’s performance in 2024.
The EPF declared dividends of 5.5 and 5.4% for conventional and syariah funds respectively with total payouts reaching RM50.33 billion. This reflects steady returns from fixed income investments and vibrant returns from equity markets.

The dividends for 2024 appear better based on previous year proliferation mainly due to the increased investment income by EPF of RM57.5 billion as of the third quarter in 2024, said Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan. Economists explain that such high dividends will bolster retirement savings, enhance financial security and showcase the positive resilience of the economic outlook of Malaysia.
With more than 15 million members, EPF remains one of Malaysia’s largest institutional investors and a significant contributor to economic growth. Contributors are very eager as they await the official announcement which promised a more encouraging payout attractive for long-term savings and financial well-being.
