Multan Sultans pacer Ihsanullah intends to make a major comeback for the 2026 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Ihsanullah who took 22 wickets in the 2023 PSL was denied further progress in his career as he faced an elbow injury during Pakistan’s home series versus New Zealand.Ihsanullah returned to competitive cricket in 2024 in the Champions T20 Cup, where he took two wickets in four matches. However, he didn’t find a buyer in the PSL 10 draft and announced his retirement from the league before rescinding it just a day later.
Owner of Multan Sultans team Ali Tareen also provided an update on Ihsanullah by stating that he had met the bowler at a nets session and discussed his future plans.
Ali Tareen said Ihsanullah is now concentrating on reaching his best level of fitness and is hoping to play a complete domestic season to make sure a return to the PSL in 2026.
Tareen had previously raised concerns about Ihsanullah’s injury earlier this year. He explained that it had left some permanent damage to his arm after a previous operation.
However Ihsanullah said that “I am bowling at 142 km/h now and it is not going to be difficult for me to bowl 150 km/h anymore. It doesn’t matter if my elbow is straight or bent. With a determined mind, I’ll exceed 150 and beyond”.
