Pakistan will celebrate Eid ul Fitr tomorrow on March 31, 2025 as the Shawwal moon has been sighted
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has made this announcement on Sunday evening after iftar.
The moon sighting meeting was headed by Committee Chairman Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad at the Ministry of Religious Affairs in Islamabad.
Other Zonal committees in cities like Karachi, Lahore, Quetta and Peshawar also observed the moon.
Maulana Azad confirmed that testimonies of the moon sighting were received from multiple locations including Lahore, Bahawalpur, Islamabad, Sheikhupura and Kasur.
He stated that since most areas had clear skies so the committee unanimously decided that Eid ul Fitr would be celebrated on Monday.
Religious scholars, meteorologists and other officials were present at the meeting to verify the reports. Pakistan’s space agency Suparco had already predicted that Eid would fall on March 31.
