PTI Punjab chief organiser Aliya Hamza was arrested by Rawalpindi police late Friday night along with two other party workers.
All three were taken from the Gulzar-i-Quaid area and later shifted to a women police station.
A senior police officer confirmed that the arrests were made in connection with a case involving multiple charges. However the exact details of the charges are yet to be made public. A legal team is currently reviewing the matter to decide whether an FIR should be registered against Aliya Hamza.
Aliya Hamza was appointed as the chief organiser for PTI Punjab by party founder Imran Khan in January this year.
Her arrest came shortly after she led a peaceful protest in Rawalpindi. The protest was held in support of Palestine and against the war in Gaza.
