Shehbaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan, landed in Islamabad on Tuesday after completing his high-profile trip to the UAE. He attended a crucial Summit in Dubai and also discussed bilateral ties.
PM Sharif and UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed held discussions to deepen bilateral relations and explored opportunities to enhance cooperation. The talks focused on finding sustainable economic progress.
Strengthening UAE-Pakistan bilateral cooperation
The UAE President and Pakistani PM exchanged opinions on a number of regional and international issues of mutual interest. They also focused on the Middle East crisis, emphasizing the need for intensified efforts to open channels for lasting peace.
PM Shehbaz Sharif noted his country’s commitment to enhancing the UAE-Pakistan bilateral ties and expanding partnership, especially in economic and trade fields, to support both nations’ priorities.
UAE PM HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid and his Pakistani counterpart also held talks. His Highness stressed their mutual commitment to supporting bilateral relations across different sectors.
Pakistan’s pursuit of progress and resilience
In his main address to global leaders at the World Governments Summit 2025 in Dubai, Shehbaz Sharif outlined Pakistan’s roadmap for economic transformation, energy sustainability and human development, emphasising the need for global cooperation.
Opening his remarks, the Prime Minister of Pakistan expressed his deep admiration for the leadership of the UAE. He noted that Pakistan, despite facing major challenges in the recent past, has remained steadfast in its pursuit of progress and resilience.
