On April 7, 2025 a global strike is called to show solidarity with the oppressed people of Gaza. It is a strike to oppose the Israeli aggression and purpose is to bring the attention of the international public opinion to the genocide in Gaza.
Students and teachers from various universities participated in the strike in Bangladesh. They refused to participate in academic activities and showed solidarity with the people of Gaza. Dhaka university students also staged campus large scale rallies and chanted slogans in support of Gaza. Students and teachers from other educational institutes also participated in the protest demonstrations.
The business community of Karachi has announced closure of all markets and commercial centers in sympathetic support to Palestine. The All Traders Sindh Alliance leaders conveyed their complete support to the global strike against the current Israeli atrocities and appealed to the general public to express solidarity with their oppressed Palestinian brothers and sisters.
Special prayers are being held for Palestinians in different religious institutions and Madrassas.
Same day Israeli airstrikes hit a journalists’ tent near Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis. It caused the killing of two journalists and the wounding of seven more. Such an attack further underscores the scale of continued violence in Gaza.
On an international level various organizations and countries are against Israeli attacks in Gaza. French President Emmanuel Macron also urged a cease fire and called for Israel to lift its siege of Gaza. Several human rights organizations are speaking up on the Israeli assault to stop immediately.
The global strike and protests extend a strong message of sympathy with the people of Gaza and a demand for the international community to take real action against Israeli attacks.
