As of recents reports by Emirates News Agency (WAM), UAE mediates exchange of 350 war captives between Russia and Ukraine.
This exchange includes 175 prisoners from Russia and 175 from Ukraine.
The UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs acknowledged the faith of both countries in the UAE , and appreciated their cooperation in endorsing peace efforts to sort out the dispute.
The ministry further added that UAE has administered 13 mediation efforts so far since the start of war.
These mediation efforts have resulted in swapping of 3,233 captives between Russia and Ukraine.
In February alone , UAE announced an exchange of 300 prisoners between two, succeeding its mediation efforts.
Praising UAE’s efforts for peace, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on twitter that “another 22 defenders are on their way back home through measures beyond exchanges”.
