Eid ul Fitr represents the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Muslims across the world celebrate Eid ul Fitr on 1st of Shawwal every year.
According to astronomers, the moon of Shawal will be visible on the evening of Saturday on March 29 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. If this happens then Saudi Arabia will celebrate Eid ul Fitr 2025 on Sunday, March 30.
Arab media has stated that the new moon is likely to be born on March 29 at 2:00 pm and it will remain visible for 8 minutes after sunset.
On the other hand, the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) said the age of the new moon at sunset in Makkah would be just five hours. That’s why chances of moon sighting on March 29 in Saudi Arabia are limited.
The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has announced a four day public holiday for Eid ul-Fitr 2025. The break period will begin after work on Saturday, March 29 and end on Wednesday, April 2.
