President Asif Ali Zardari has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently in isolation as confirmed by a statement from the president house on Wednesday.
The news broke after the media reported that President Asif Zardari had been hospitalized in Karachi.
He has been transferred from Nawabshah where he had attended Eid prayers.

Dr. Hussain stated that President Asif Zardari is under the care of a medical team and his condition is improving. He has been advised to remain in isolation until full recovery.
Reports had also circulated about President Asif Zardari being moved to Dubai for treatment but these claims were quickly denied.
Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon confirmed that President Zardari’s health is getting better and reassured the public that he has not been shifted abroad.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also inquired about President Asif Ali Zardari’s health and wished him a speedy recovery.
Several leaders from Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) including Senator Sehar Kamran also sent their well wishes.
A source close to President Asif Zardari family mentioned that the president is undergoing some tests and is expected to be discharged soon. Meanwhile Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori also expressed his concern for President Asif Zardari’s health and reached out to his physician for an update.
