How to Backup & Restore WhatsApp Data (Android & iPhone)

Sometimes it is really important to backup whatsapp data like when we are changing our phone or just upgrading.

Backup WhatsApp Data on Android

WhatsApp for Android allows you to back up your chats and media to Google Drive. 

1. Open WhatsApp on your Android phone.
   
2. Tap the three dots at the top right and go to Settings.
   
3. Navigate to Chats > Chat Backup.
   
4. Tap Back up to Google Drive and choose the backup frequency (Daily, Weekly, Monthly).
   
5. Select your Google account.
   
6. Tap Back Up to start the process manually or wait for automatic backups.
   

Make sure your Google account is active and has enough storage.

Restore WhatsApp Data on Android

When setting up WhatsApp on a new Android phone:

1. Install WhatsApp from the Play Store.
   
2. Open WhatsApp and verify your phone number.
   
3. WhatsApp will prompt you to restore chats and media from Google Drive.
   
4. Tap Restore and wait until the process completes.
