Abbas Afridi, born on April 5, 2001, in Peshawar, Pakistan, has rapidly emerged as a talented sportsman in the cricketing world. Afridi is a nephew of former cricketer and Pakistani cricket coach, Umar Gul. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler.
Afridi’s cricketing journey started with his record appearance for Habib Bank Limited during the 2018-19 Quaid-e-Azam One Day Cup.
His performances at the domestic level led to his selection for the Pakistan Under-19 squad in the 2020 Under-19 World Cup.
He made an exceptional performance in the 2020 Under-19 World Cup and finished as the team’s top wicket-taker.
In October 2021, he was drafted into the Pakistan Shaheens squad for their Sri Lanka series.
In the 2023 Global T20 Canada, Afridi was signed by the Montreal Tigers and was lauded for his hat-trick against the Vancouver Knights.
